Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton - 3/5
I really liked this book. I’ll admit, I’ve never felt quite as passionate about biographies as I do about fiction (there’s just something about them that makes it harder for me to engage in the same way or to reflect on them as deeply). What stood out to me most was Alderton’s writing style: fast-paced, direct, and full of feeling and humour. She never lingered too long, and yet nothing felt rushed or empty. The way she moved through time, dipping in and out of different periods, worked beautifully. The tone throughout was spot on. I’m glad I picked this up and pushed myself out of my comfort zone. It was worth it. I’ll always value a book that celebrates the beauty and importance of female friendships. They’re often the first real experience of love, and for me, women are the great loves of my life. I’m glad Alderton feels the same.
