I am speechless. I honestly don’t know what to say. One of the best pieces of writing I have read in a long time. Atwood narrates in a way that resonates deeply with women, articulating thoughts we often struggle to express and revealing the ways we study men, in the privacy of our thoughts. Her writing of entrapment was suffocating. The better the book the less I have to write about it it seems. The novel speaks for itself.
‘So there it was, out in the open: his wife didn't understand him. That's what I was there for then. The same old thing. It was too banal to be true.’
